Commemorate 50 (C50) is an initiative highlighting the 50th anniversary of the decriminalization of homosexuality in Canada. With funding from Heritage Canada, C50 aims to celebrate the accomplishments and contributions of the LGBTQ2S+ community and to champion the tireless work done to advance equality, past and present. Throughout C50, the Office of the Lieutenant Governor held round tables and panel discussions , attended related events, and worked with members of the LGBTQ2S+ community to create a visual timeline focused on significant dates, events and figures of the past 50 years.
The Commemorate 50 Inclusivity Toolkit includes suggestions and best practices on how to promote inclusiveness in your organization. The Commemorate 50 Timeline is also available to download in PDF or jpeg format, with dates in chronological order or by category.
