Champions for Equality: Inspiring BC Leaders Making a Difference

International Women’s Day is a global movement celebrating the diverse achievements of women all over the world and marks a call to action for accelerating women’s equality.

I am excited to announce the launch of Champions for Equality, in partnership with the BC Gender Equity Office. The theme for International Women’s Day in 2020 is #EachforEqual—when individual women challenge stereotypes, those choices bring collective benefits. Through Champions for Equality, I will share profiles over the coming weeks of women in British Columbia whose work actively combats biases, broadens perceptions, and celebrates women’s achievements.

Women in British Columbia are breaking down barriers and advancing their presence across all sectors and industries. From journalists to CEOs to trades instructors to activists, the inspiring BC leaders profiled in Champions for Equality are making a difference. Learn more about the challenges they faced on the path to success, the women who inspired them and their own advice on moving forward, even when the road ahead might be rough.

I am thrilled to share the stories of these women with you. Look for our first profiles launching on Monday, March 9, on the LG Blog, and for subsequent stories throughout the next two weeks.

Who is a woman that has inspired you? Tell me about her on my Twitter, Facebook or Instagram.
