Celebrate Community at Government House Gardenfest

Celebrate community and meet new friends and neighbours at Government House Gardenfest on Friday, July 28!

Join the Honourable Janet Austin, Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia for a free outdoor garden party filled with family-friendly activities and live performances, all in the beautiful setting of the grounds of the ceremonial home of all British Columbians, Government House.

Inspired by the Big Help Out of the Coronation, there’ll be opportunities to meet community and volunteer organizations, as well as play lawn games, pet cute critters with 4H, jump in a bouncy castle, check out balloon art, snap a selfie in the photo zone, nibble on sweet treats, and take in music and dance from Ballet Victoria, the Victoria Conservatory of Music, Pacific Opera Victoria and Lieutenant Governor Arts and Music Award recipient Don Alder.

Government House Gardenfest kicks off at 2:00 pm on Friday, July 28, at the bandshell at 1401 Rockland Ave in Victoria.

Onsite parking is limited. Government House can be reached via a 20-minute walk or five-minute drive from downtown. Buses on Victoria Regional Transit routes 11 and 14 stop on Fort Street at Joan Crescent, three blocks from Government House.

Transit by bicycle is welcome! Due to the popularity of these events, bike rack space may be limited, but bikes may be stored along the perimeter fence surrounding the space.
