VICTORIA – The Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia hereby announces she has invited Premier John Horgan to form a new government. This follows the outcome of the October 24, 2020, provincial election, and the assurance from the Chief Electoral Officer that these results are conclusive.
The Lieutenant Governor extends her thanks to all candidates who ran, and to those departing the Legislative Assembly, for their dedicated service to the province.
The Lieutenant Governor also wishes to thank the entire team at Elections BC. This year in particular, Elections BC conducted this election under challenging and unprecedented circumstances, finding and implementing innovative ways for all British Columbians to exercise their right to participate in our democracy.
Finally, the Lieutenant Governor shares her gratitude to all British Columbians who voted. Your vote is a choice which defines the future of our Province, and your participation is more valuable than ever.
